Every calculator on this site is derived from published density values, contractor pricing data, and standards from the National Asphalt Pavement Association, the Asphalt Institute, and the Federal Highway Administration. Where pricing ranges appear, the source is either current local plant pricing surveys or the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Employment Statistics. Editorial standards
- No paid placement. Calculator outputs are math-only. We do not sell ranked positions or lead handoffs.
- Source-cited claims. Cost, density, and lifespan numbers cite the original source (NAPA, BLS, BBB, FHWA, AI) inline.
- Planning estimates, not engineering. Calculator results are starting points for homeowner planning conversations, not stamped engineering specs. Final material spec and base prep require a licensed paving contractor or engineer.
